Triple rear cameras and Snapdragon 855 listed as features of the Mi 9 and Mi MIX 4

Next year, Xiaomi is expected to release at least two new flagships. The two main ones are the Mi 9 and the Mi MIX 4 and details about some of their features have surfaced online. The info comes from a research note from GF Securities of Hong Kong. According to the firm, Xiaomi will launch its first phone with triple rear cameras next year and it will be the Mi 9.   Seeing as the Mi 8 comes in multiple variants, we do not know if the Mi 9 will follow the same tradition and if it does which of them will have three cameras on its back. If there are indeed multiple variants of the phone, we believe the Pro version should at least have three cameras. The Mi 9 won’t be the only phone with triple rear cameras as the research note says the Mi MIX 4 will also have three rear cameras, one of which will have an optical zoom lens that doesn’t increase the thickness of the device. Other than having three rear cameras, both phones will also be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor. No

LG G7 ThinQ will receive Android 9 Pie update in Q1 2019

Image
If LG's rollout last month of a  of its upcoming update to Android 9 Pie for the in South Korea got you excited about the possibility of there being a final release going out across the globe soon, well, hold your horses. The company has now officially listed the release date for the stable Pie update for the G7 as Q1, 2019. And that only applies for Korea. Keeping in mind that LG's OS updates usually arrive in its home market first, and then might take many more months to reach other countries, if you have a G7 and haven't bought it from Korea we assume you'll probably have to wait at least until Q2 of next year to see Pie on your device. While some of LG's competitors have gotten marginally faster with big Android updates, it's still the case that if you buy an LG you're guaranteed not to be among the first to see new OS versions on your phone

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max reportedly hit with a charging bug

Image
The brand new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max handsets have only been in customers' hands for a week, but already a problem has emerged – namely that some models don't start charging when plugged into the mains if the screen is off when they're connected. At the moment the issue is only anecdotal, but based on forum posts and YouTube videos it seems to be genuine, even if the scale of the problem isn't clear yet. We've tested charging behavior on our own iPhone XS in the TechRadar office and it works fine, so this isn't something that's affecting every handset out there. Some users report it's phone inactivity that causes the charging cable not to be recognized, rather than the screen being off. In just about every case we've seen, charging carries on usually as soon as the phone gets unlocked or is interacted with. It's a bug's life Considering charging is only disabled under certain conditions, it seems that this is likely to

One plus crushed it in India over the course of the last year, amassing over 40% of the market share in the premium segment. As a way of thanking its community, the Chinese manufacturer rolled out a Star Wars-themed edition of the OnePlus 5T. The company is now continuing its collaboration with Disney to introduce an Avengers variant of the OnePlus 6 alongside the standard version Like last year, the limited edition variant will be sold primarily in Asian markets. There were rumors ahead of the launch that the device will make its way to the UK, but OnePlus has quelled the speculation by confirming that the OnePlus 6 Avengers Edition will be exclusive to India and China.    OnePlus has custom packaging for its limited edition variants, and the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition is no different. The large box comes emblazoned with the Avengers insignia, and inside you'll find the phone as well as a custom Iron Man case (which is reminiscent of the Kylo Ren case included with th

OnePlus 6T to launch soon but should you wait for next OnePlus flagship?

Image
Isn’t it a big dilemma? Be it Apple’s new iPhone or Google’s Pixel, whenever you’re making up mind to buy the new phone, there’s always a better version coming soon. OnePlus is no exception. But unlike Apple or Google, OnePlus has shorter product upgrade cycle. For instance, OnePlus 6T is launching just six months after the OnePlus 6 launch. Based on OnePlus’s product launch cycle, OnePlus 7 shouldn’t be far away. What makes things more irking for OnePlus users is that new OnePlus phones arrive at almost the same price as the older ones. OnePlus 5T launched in India in November 2017 at a starting price of Rs 32,999. Six months later, OnePlus 6 launched in India at a base price of Rs 34,999. In case of OnePlus 6T, the phone is speculated to be priced slightly higher at a starting price of Rs 36,000. The price, however, isn’t the final and could remain aggressive, in line with OnePlus’ strategy for the Indian premium phone market. In simpler words, those who buy OnePlus 6T w
